Ghanaian broadcaster Captain Smart has officially resigned from Media General and Onua TV/FM, bringing his broadcasting career to a close as he turns his attention to politics.
The outspoken media personality is preparing to contest the Gomoa West Constituency parliamentary seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 general elections. He had previously declared his intention to contest the NDC parliamentary primaries in the constituency.
Captain Smart’s move marks a major transition from the media space into active politics, with reports indicating that he has already begun engaging in activities within the constituency ahead of the anticipated contest.
