Ghanaian boxer John Laryea has suffered his first professional career defeat after being disqualified in his WBA eliminator bout against Maximiliano Robledo.
Following the unexpected outcome, Laryea has taken full responsibility for his disqualification and apologized to his team, sponsors and fans.
In a statement, he said the setback will only motivate him to return “stronger, sharper, and more focused”, promising to learn from the experience and come back stronger.
He also expressed gratitude to his promoters, Legacy Rise Sports, sponsors, Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan, and everyone who continues to support him.
