The Koforidua New Juabeng South District Police Command has arrested thirteen suspected prostitutes, including twelve Nigerian nationals, in a major operation targeting alleged human trafficking and prostitution activities.
The arrest, captured in a circulating video, also led to the apprehension of a landlord and a bouncer believed to be connected to the operation of the suspected brothel.
According to police sources, the suspects are facing allegations including human trafficking, assault, operating a brothel, allowing a minor to engage in prostitution, and trading in prostitution.
The police say investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be processed in accordance with the law. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to clamping down on human trafficking and illegal prostitution activities within the municipality.
