A Ghanaian military camp serving under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has been hit by missiles amid escalating hostilities in southern Lebanon.

According to the Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghanaian Battalion Headquarters came under two missile attacks between 5:45 pm and 5:52 pm local time during ongoing clashes in the region.

The attack reportedly destroyed the Officersโ€™ Mess facility after it caught fire, causing significant damage to parts of the camp.

Initial reports indicate that two Ghanaian soldiers were critically injured, while another peacekeeper suffered trauma. The injured personnel are receiving treatment at a UN medical facility, and arrangements are being made for their evacuation to a referral hospital.

The Ghana Armed Forces has assured the public that other troops are safe and currently sheltering in bunkers as the situation remains tense.
